Fight Gone Bad IV - Fun!

Fight Gone Bad IV was a great event thanks to the efforts of Tri Cities CrossFit in St Charles. We all showed up with our game faces and got ready to take on the WOD, set new PRs and impress our regional CrossFit counterparts with the results of all our efforts over this last year.

Everybody set a personal record. I came in at 359 to Pete's 380. I'll get you next time Pete! :)

Monday's WOD

Got some great pics on this one!

Started out with Push Press - 3, 3, 3, 3 - maxed out at 85k. Pete maxed at 110 or thereabouts. Damn, he's strong!

The WOD was 5 rounds for time of 10 x 36" box jumps and 10 x 60k Sumo Dead Lift High Pulls.

Season and I are flying in this picture.

And here's a headless close up to prove it! Zach did you all a favor and cut off my head so you could admire just the good parts ;)

Here's Dave cranking away at his Sumos - smile Dave!

Pete makes a 36" box jump look easy - even for a short guy!

I had an opportunity to drop in on the 6pm class and watch them suffer thru the same workout. I think sometimes that it's more fun to watch? :)

My baby girl loved the WOD and finished in 8:38 to beat my AM time of 8:39. The Huckabay competitive spirit is alive and well!

Zach made the push press look easy.

Jennie killed the Sumos with intensity!

Tom Kangaroo Mohr was at it again. Can you imagine this guy jumping up on your window sill late at night? Booga!

This picture of Bender was too good to pass up :)

Good night!

Food on Monday

You guys probably wonder what I eat to have these ripped up abs? Then again, maybe you don't but I'll go ahead and tell you anyways since you're reading my blog! Today was very representative of my average diet. I love nuts! I try not to go anywhere without a bag on hand because I hate to be hungry. This is a mix that I make myself using products from Sam's Club. It includes walnuts, pecans, almonds, dried blueberries and their triple cherry mix. After this mornings WOD, I had 2 or three handfuls on the way to the office between 6:30 and 7:30AM.

Then I grabbed a plate of bacon, about 10 pieces, and a couple of boiled eggs around 9am. I forgot to take a picture. Sorry!

I joined Tom for our traditional lunch at Dave's desk and put together a salad up in the cafe with plenty of spicy oil mixed in.

And then the coup de gras - around 8pm - 2 rare to medium thick pub burgers on the grill with onions, tomatos, pickles and a whole avocado. Spectacular!

My New Secret Weapon for Conquering Double Unders

I just found Zach's blog and found a link to the greatest piece of fitness equipment ever invented. I wish I had thought of it first - a ropeless jump rope. Hell, it even counts your reps. You surely can't beat that. I'm going to absolutey kill the WOD next time Annie comes around. I'm ordering one of these today!

As RX'd Again! Cluster What?

So the box jump didn't go so well this morning - only 10 more inches to go for the 52" Fort record. I succeeded at 42" but didn't do so hot at 44" - doh!

The WOD was better. The board said 60k RX'd again and I had to do some serious soul searching in the bathroom before coming out and throwing those 20k plates on the bar. Just suck it up and get it done!

7 rounds for time of 5 clusters (full clean and thruster) along with 7 chest to bar pullups. After the first couple of rounds, I broke the clusters up into sets of 2 and 3. I did all of the pullups unbroken and mostly chest to bar :)

PS -Audra made a comment regarding our packages Dave - nice camera action Zach!

Huckabay - It's a CrossFit Family

Everybody is getting into the action now :)

Audra is a seasoned CrossFitter - way to go Audra!

Mckenzie just started CrossFitting - nice action shot!

And Lilly is a CrossFit wannabe - below parallel all the way!

New Deadlift PR of 195k!

That's a 20k improvement since June and I'm not going to stop there. 195k was easy! I'm going for 205+ on the next go around :)
I also went RX'd on the WOD - 7 rounds for time of 7 push press and 7 sumo deadlift high pull at 60k in 8:02. I was annoyed with myself because I didn't feel that I pushed beyond the discomfort tonight. Pete smoked me by a solid 2 minutes. However, I resisted the urge to scale and sucked it up at 60k which is a step in the right direction! It's time to start moving some really heavy weight!
